The Seminar 'Hải Thượng Lãn Ông Lê Hữu Trác – Life, Career, and Influence' and Exciting Promotion Programs for 2022

On August 2, 2022, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh Province, and Hung Yen Province, organized a seminar titled "Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac - His Life, Achievements, and Influence" to honor the great physician Le Huu Trac and propose UNESCO's recognition of him as a World Cultural Figure.

As the sole production entity honored to present a lecture at the seminar, Dr. Le Khac Tam, on behalf of Fito Pharma Pharmaceutical Company and the Traditional Medicine Museum of Vietnam (Fito Museum), delivered a presentation on the topic: "Research and Production of Modern Traditional Medicine based on the prescriptions of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac

The Fito Museum, Vietnam's Traditional Medicine Museum, has been actively promoting and introducing the significant cultural and scientific heritage left to us by Hai Thuong Lan Ong to both domestic and international visitors for many years. In addition to presenting his life and achievements, the museum also showcases items that capture the attention of visitors, including the Nine Commandments of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, his famous quotes about the medical profession. Notably, the museum has dignifiedly exhibited the 48 most cherished medicinal prescriptions of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, each of which not only details the composition, functions, and usage but also includes illustrations and information about the medicinal ingredients, making it easier for visitors to understand the philosophical ideas contained within these prescriptions.

The legacy of medicinal prescriptions left by Hai Thuong Lan Ong is as vast as the ocean. The challenge lies in selecting the most effective remedies from the thousands of prescriptions to apply in the prevention and treatment of diseases for the people in the current era.

To conduct research for application in the production of modern Traditional Medicine, Fito Pharma Pharmaceutical Company has chosen 28 medicinal prescriptions listed in two volumes of the work "Hai Thuong Y Tong Tam Linh": "Tâm Đắc Thần Phương," meaning the prescriptions that Hai Thuong cherished, and "Hiệu Phỏng Tân Phương," which represents the effective remedies that Hai Thuong Lan Ong created.

The effective and valuable remedies of Hai Thuong Lan Ong are a source of pride for Traditional Vietnamese Medicine. The promotion and research for the production of modern Traditional Medicine based on Hai Thuong Lan Ong's prescriptions contribute to enhancing the role of renowned Vietnamese physicians in the development of Traditional Medicine in Vietnam specifically and in Eastern Traditional Medicine in general. Furthermore, it also aligns with the Party and the state's policies to inherit and develop traditional medicine practices in our country.
