What is Oriental medicine?

Oriental medicine, also known as traditional medicine is a medicine which ingredients are medicinal herbs that are processed, prepared or mixed according to the theory and methods of traditional medicine or according to folk experience into preparations in traditional or modern dosage forms. Traditional medicine often has both a tonic and a cure.

Advantages of Oriental medicine

Safety: The methods and materials used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in TCM are very safe. The drugs used are mainly natural ingredients such as stems, roots, leaves, fruits, flowers, etc. Therefore, there are usually no toxicity and side effects to the patient's body. Not only that, the drug processing process is also very traditional and manual, mainly based on nature, so even if used for a long time, there is no need to worry about toxic substances accumulating in the body.

Efficacy: Traditional medicine has been recognized by many countries around the world for its healing ability. In addition, it also cures a number of chronic diseases that Western medicine has not found a cure.

 Disadvantages of Oriental Medicine

Slow effect: The safety and effectiveness of traditional medicines are indisputable. But for the medicine can work and cure the disease, the patience of the patient is very important, usually at least need to use the medicine for 2-3 months. However, after recovering, the disease will go away for a long time and the risk of recurrence is very low.

However, saying that, not all traditional medicines are only effective slowly and must be used for a long period of time to have any effect. Many traditional medicines also have an immediate or short-term effect like many other Western medicines.

Antidote : Drugs used to bring bad impacts (wind, rheumatism, cold, heat) out by perspiration; cure diseases that are still in the form to make the disease not infiltrate (reason). General effects: spreading the expression due to extrasensory perception of wind and cold; cure cough, asthma; detoxification, make the nodules grow; cure pain in joints caused by rheumatism.

Cold drugs : Warm and hot drugs to treat diseases that cause cold in the body due to a decrease in the yang part. The general effect is to treat diseases caused by gastric splenic damage.

Antipyretic drugs : Drugs with cold properties to treat diseases that cause heat in humans. General effects: antipyretic, anti-convulsant causing high fever; treatment of infection and infectious diseases.

Sputum expectorants : Drugs that work to treat diseases caused by “bald phlegm”. General effect: reduce phlegm to cure cough, cure coma, cure tuberculosis nodes in neck, armpit...

Cough suppressants : Drugs that stop or reduce coughs. General effects: cough, asthma, shortness of breath, reduce phlegm.

Anti-leprosy drugs, sedatives, olfactory opening : drugs to treat diseases caused by internal leprosy. General effects: epilepsy, latent yang (lantent is depening); cure headache, dizziness, giddy; cure convulsions caused by high fever; cure joint pain, neuralgia.

Sedatives : Drugs that have a calming effect on the mind and body. General effects: cure insomnia, nervousness, panic, night sweats, dizziness, giddy, headache, eyes red, tinnitus, irritable...

Drugs on qi : These drugs have the effect of qi, anti-anxiety, pain relief, anti-reverse effects. Or has the effect of opening the gastric splenic.

Blood circulation drugs: Drugs to treat diseases caused by blood stasis. General effect: Cure pain in visceral or local organs caused by congestion, edema, and compression; anti-inflammatory causing hot swelling; Menstrual conditioning.

Low osmotic diuretics : Drugs that have a diuretic effect aimed at excreting urine. Application: acute cystitis, acute nephritis, kidney stones, allergic edema, joint pain...

Dehydration drugs : Drugs that have the effect of eliminating edema, strong performance through the urinary and digestive tracts.

Cathartic drugs : Drugs that clear the bowels. Clinically, cathartic drugs are used to treat diseases: high fever, constipation, tumor accumulation, edema, menstrual edema, abdominal pain caused by parasitic worm...

Digestive drugs : Drugs that help the digestive tract digest food. Clinical application to stimulate digestion.

Rehydration drugs: Drugs that have the effect of absorbing. Clinical application to stop sweating, stop urine, stop diarrhea, hemostasis...

Topical drugs : Drugs used externally on the skin.
